Call for Backup
Don't try to supervise a chld's birthday party alone. Get help from
responsible, patient friends. Limit the number of guests to ensure your
sanity for the entire party; otherwise, good luck!
"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to..."
Involve the birthday boy or girl in the party-planning process. Let
him or her make the major decisions, i.e., theme, location and guest
list, while you take care of the details.
Be Prepared
Order extra food and prepare extra goodie bags for unexpected
guests. Keep extra costumes on hand for theme or costume parties. The
host should also have phone numbers for all parents and a first aid kit.
Thank you Ideas
It is common courtesy to thank guests with a card or note for their
presence and gifts. Make guests feel truly appreciated by including a
photo of the birthday child with the thank you card, or asking the child
to handwrite each card.
