Tips On Planning A Birthday Party

There is a definite way to planning a great birthday party. But not all of us are born-party planners. Party planning doesn’t have to gave you a head ache, no matter what type of party you want to have, or no matter what budget you’ve set. Here are some basic, tricks to planning a party.  The right  guests can make or break a party. When planning your guest list, try to find a balance of just the right kinds of people.  Inviting a mixture of different types of people from your life this can make for an interesting party. This means that your guest can meet new people.

When deciding on the number of guests you want to invite remember how much the the place you have can hold and also what you can afford for food, drinks, etc
Do not ask your guest when they are available and when, just announce your party, if your party is less formal, a phone call is perfectly fine, also if  you can, send your invitation email and do not forget to ask for an RSVP by a certain date. Whichever way you announce your party, be sure to let your guests know if there will be a theme.

Make sure to send out your invitations at least two weeks in advance.   Always plan ahead that not everyone will respond even if they plan on coming. Spark your guests excitement and anticipation about your party.  When it comes to the music and lighting this should be No #1 along with the food. Keep the music lyrics at a level where you will not offened anyone. Dim lighting is great if you are having your party at night and inside, if you do not have lighting you can have groups of candles placed around the house.  You don’t necessarily have to buy decorations unless it’s a themed party, but a few bunches of flowers is always a nice touch.

Your job is not done when your guest arrived.  Make your guest comfortable and not in need of anything, because your guests are important. Be the host or hostess, offer them a place to put their purses and coats. Introducing your guest to each other and how you know each other is a great icebreaker. Always keep the food refilled and the music playing.
Timed your mingling and hosting so that your can be available to enjoy your time with your guests.

Do not cause a party flop by running out of food, drinks,music and seats.
You don’t have to have a full-course meal,  you can provide your guests with munchies and drinks. Assembling lots of food options rather than cooking a grand meal saves you a lot of time and effort.

Keep the atmosphere carefree and never let your guests know there is something wrong or how hard you have worked, and be creative with all elements of the party. Your guests will appreciate anything unconventional. Throwing a party is about seeing your friends, so have fun. Party on!

Tips for an Animal Related Party

Kids enjoy related activities along with their animal related party. You can have animal decorations and cakes as well as art or other activities that reinforce the party theme.

Whether your visiting animal is a bird, rabbits, snakes or ponies - kids will enjoy crayons and a animal outline to color in. Kids can make a list of questions to ask the animal specialist on a poster board or play pin the tail on the pony or rabbit. They can place cutouts of birds on a large drawing of a tree or snake cutouts on a large poster of countryside.  Goody bags of age appropriate animal related toys or information are fun to send home. Children/kids can use kid scissors to cut out felt animal outlines to paste on their goody bags or use for playthings or clothing decorations.

Bringing bunnies and rabbits to parties, parents have had party goers decorate their own bunny cupcakes with frosting, cocoanut, jellybeans for eyes, spaghetti whiskers and paper ears.  Some parents or organizations have inflated balloons and had  the kids draw bunny faces and taped on ears. Be sure to keep those ears short or the balloon will float upside down!  Use you imagination and think up ways kids can add to their animal party experience.

General Birthday Tips

TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY
 
Birthday parties can be some of the most fun events; because, there aren’t any rules. When planning a milestone birthday (i.e. 21, 30, 40, 50…), your focus should be on the honoree’s favorite anything. If mom’s favorite foods are brownies, your favors could be nicely decorated brownies placed in little boxes. You could also have a brownie station where your guest would make brownie sundaes. Make sure to incorporate some your loved ones favorite things.

Another type of birthday party that can be tons of fun is a surprise party.  When I plan surprise parties, I ask the guest of honors family for pictures and a couple of article of clothing that belong to the guest of honor.  This will allow me to get an idea of his/her style, what he/she likes or dislikes. After I’ve processed this information, I then put together about 3-4 different design layouts for the family to choose from. Make sure that as you’re planning the party to keep in mind that this is not your party, this is mom or dad’s birthday party.
